Blepharoplasty or
Eyelift
Bags, wrinkles or folds, and sags in the
eyelids can be smoothed inconspicuously. The incision in the upper
eye is made in the natural fold of the eyelid; the lower lid
procedure does not have an outside incision. It is done from the
inside of the lower eyelid using a special technique. This removes
the fat from the lower eyelid but also smooths the skin out without
any complications, attendent pain or cosmetic problems associated
with external skin excision. This is called TRANSCONJUNCTIVAL
blepharoplasty. The removal of excess skin and fat pads offers
a rested, youthful appearance.
Usually, swelling and bruising subside within
ten days, and then any small scars can be camouflaged with make-up.
The scars are designed to blend in with surrounding skin and become
perceptible only with close scrutiny after several months have
passed.
