Collagen Implant

Zyderm Collagen is a natural protein, similar to the protein in the skin, that is used to replace lost or changed soft tissue. Injected under the skin, it can minimize skin imperfections, improve texture, and ultimately restore normal facial contours. It is useful in reducing acne scars, smoothing smile and frown lines, viral pock marks, traumatic or surgical scars, and cleft-lip deficiencies.

The therapy involves a skin test, treatment, and periodic touch-up.

This Zyderm Collagen, unlike the collagen found in moisturizing creams, which works on the skins surface, is a medical product that is injected into the uppermost layers of the skin, and works below the skin's surface.

Individuals who have already had coolagen can be treated for various problems with their skin including some acne scars, wrinkles, nasal lbial groove lines and other places. If they have not been treated before, a skin test must be done to make sure they are not allergic to the collagen. You have to wait a month for this. Only about one person in 1000 will develop a treatment reaction.

A lot of collagen has been used for the "Paris Lips". The collagen here has been replaced by another product from the Collagen corporation called Soft Form Inplants. This can be done to the upper and lower lips. This is permanent and does not have any allergic reactions to it.

After treatment is completed, Zyderm Collagen can be maintained with touch-up injections. Both mechanical and biochemical processes will alter Zyderm Collagen in the same way your own collagen is affected. infrequent touch-ups will help maintain maximum correction, providing a long term solution to skin contour problems.
